Indication:
Febrile and inflammatory disorders, muscle pain and soft tissue pain in livestock and young animals, such as fever, endotoxin inflammation and sepsis of dogs.
Usage and Dosage: In flunixin amount, intramuscular injection or intravenous injection. 2mg/kg body weight for swine, 1~2mg/kg body weight for cat and dog, twice a day for ≤ 5 days
Precautions:
(1) For intravenous injection, apply slowly. After injection, allergy-like reactions may occur in horse and cattle.
(2) Intravenous injection is not recommended on horse and cattle since it could cause local inflammation. Intramuscular injection on horse, especially on the neck muscle could cause anorexia, depression and inflammation. Half-life of the drug will be prolonged after repeated muscle injections. Withdrawal period should be prolonged for food animals. The drug's renal toxicity in cattle increases in case of dehydration.
(3) It is prohibited to use on cows during lactation and dry milk, on veal and horse for human consumption.
(4) It is prohibited to use on stallion and stud bull, because its impact on reproductive performance has not yet been established. Use with caution for pregnant livestock.
(5) It is prohibited to use on livestock with gastrointestinal ulcers, gastrointestinal and other tissue bleeding and livestock sensitive to flunixin meglumine. And it is also prohibited to apply on livestock with cardiovascular disease, liver and kidney dysfunction and dehydration disease.
(6) Dog is quite sensitive to it, therefore one single application of flunixin meglumine is suggested on dogs, or not more than 3 days if a repeated injection approach is used.
(7) It is prohibited to use the product in combination with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
